5 pistols, 3 desi katas and 9 Magazines, recovered*

Sh. Satinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar has stated while releasing a press note, that keeping in view the guidelines laid down by the government in order to maintain law and order in the state and to curb the menace created by the bad elements of the society, they were able to achieve a breakthrough when under the guidance of Sh. Harmandeep Singh Hans, SP(D), Sh. Mukhtiar Rai, SP(Operation), Sh. Gurcharn Singh. DSP(D), SAS Nagar, Insp. Sukhbir Singh, CIA Staff Mohali along with his team apprehended and arrested a man named Mohd. Sharukh, an Illegal supplier of arms.
As per information, On 06/06/2021 while the Police party of CIA Mohali was patrolling on the Kharar-Landran road, they spotted a person on the bus stand in Vill. Santemajra, who seemed to be suspicious and who was carrying a plastic bag with him. When the Police party attempted to check the man, He tried to escape from there, but he was caught.
On search of the man’s belongings, the plastic bag was found to contain
1.5 pistol .32 bore (Country made) with 9 Magazines
2.3 desi katas .315 bore
The accused, Mohd. Sharukh @ Nila S/o Mausam R/o Baheri, PS Kotwalli, District Muzaffarnagar, UP aged 24 Years, on being interrogated revealed that previously also a case of theft was registered against him in PS Muzaffarnagar, where after he was Imprisoned for a period of 6 months in Muzaffarnagar Jail. He has also told that he was working as an electrician with the contractor in his Village and use to get a monthly salary of RS. 10000/-. He has been working in UP, Bihar, Gujarat and Punjab with Building contractors in the past. A through interrogation of the accused is under way, so as to reveal the particulars about the weapons that he has been suppling elsewhere so that other people involved in this case may also be traced. An FIR No. 136 dated 06/06/2021 U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act PS Sadar Kharar has been registered against the accused and more revelations are expected.
