CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, called on the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya in his Dehli office and discussed in detail about the vaccination campaign being run in the state and the enhanced demand for urea and DAP in the state. CM Shri Chouhan informed that under the vaccination campaign being run across the country, the Government is committed to administer both doses of the vaccine to 100 percent citizens of the state. In this sequence, the second phase of the vaccination Mahabhiyan is being held on 25 and 26 August in the state. Under the Mahabhiyan, a total of 35 lakh citizens are targeted to be vaccinated in two days. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan urged the Union Minister for an additional dose of 11 lakh vaccines to make the Mahabhiyan successful. The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister of the required 11 lakh vaccine doses by the Centre by August 24.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that paddy plantation work is in progress in the state, for which the demand for DAP has increased in the state. Along with this, drop dressing of urea is being done in maize and paddy, due to which the demand for urea has also increased. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan further informed that against the demand of 12.13 lakh metric tonnes of urea by the State, only 8 lakh metric tonnes have been allotted by the Centre to the state so far. Similarly, the allocation of DAP is only 5 lakh MT against the demand of 8.05 lakh MT by the state. Shri Chouhan requested that the remaining 4.13 lakh metric tonnes of urea and the remaining 3.05 lakh metric tonnes of DAP should be released by the Centre soon.
