Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted saplings of Moulshree and Gulmohar in Smart garden. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan is planting saplings as per his resolve. In order to make tree plantation a public campaign, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan plants trees with social organisations, voluntary organisations and organisations and individuals who encourage people to plant trees. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan planted saplings today along with Shri Vatsal Shrivastava, Shri Sudhir Dandotia, Shri Naveen Singh, Shri Vivek Pataiyya and Shri Shikhil Beohar of TV news channel IBC-24.

After the plantation, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said in a discussion with the news channel that plantation is necessary to reduce the ill effects of climate change and global warming. The state government is making continuous efforts in this direction. Along with this, activities are also being conducted for the expansion of energy literacy. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we have to tell the masses that saving electricity is equal to making electricity. Thermal power plants spoil the environment. If we save electricity then the need to generate electricity will be less. In this way we can also contribute towards environmental protection by trying to save electricity. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that he himself is constantly active and alert to save electricity at the Chief Minister’s residence. Producing electricity from solar energy does not cause pollution. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the State Government is committed to promote energy literacy and renewable energy.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the foundation stone has been laid for solar power plants at Agar-Malwa, Neemuch and Shajapur. The construction of floating power plant at Omkareshwar is in progress. The state government is encouraging power generation from solar energy, wind energy and biomass. It is our endeavour to reduce the percentage of electricity generation from thermal power plants. Trees and plants have been given great importance in Indian culture. According to the spirit of Indian culture, we believe in the principle of utilisation, not exploitation of nature.

Importance of plants

Moulshree planted today is also called Kesav in Sanskrit, Molsari or Bakool in Hindi. It is a tree of medicinal importance, which has been used in Ayurveda for centuries. Gulmohar is considered one of the most beautiful trees in the world. Flowers blooming in big bunches between the leaves of Gulmohar give a distinct attraction to this tree. In summer, Gulmohar trees are laden with flowers instead of leaves. It is also rich in medicinal properties.
