On formation of Aam Aadmi Party government, cheap electricity, water and other facilities will be provided to people
Sri Muktsar Sahib, April 24, 2021
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Kisan Wing Punjab president and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan demanded from the Centre and the state government to give a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal to the farmers on wheat crop. Addressing the media here on Saturday, Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that due to natural calamities, the yield of wheat had come down by 4 to 6 quintals, which had resulted in economic loss of Rs 8,000 to 12,000 per acre to the farmers and due to this, PM Narendra Modi at the Centre and Captain Amarinder Singh’s government in Punjab should take the farmers by the arm. He said that it would be better if the Punjab and Union governments would pay Rs 250-250 per quintal as compensation but if the Union government did not pay then it would be the responsibility of the Punjab government to give Rs 500 per quintal bonus to the farmers.
Referring to the shortage of gunny bags (bardana) in the mandis of Punjab as a major scam, Sandhwan said that a bag which was available for Rs 20 was now being bought for Rs 45. “The government has not done what it was supposed to do three months ago and there is a big scam going on in buying expensive bags,” he added. Sandhwan further said that AAP would fight the upcoming assembly elections to save Punjab. He said that both Captain and the Badals were engaged in looting Punjab as drug mafia, sand mafia, transport mafia, cable mafia and liquor mafia are looting the people of Punjab as before.
The AAP leader said that even today, the parents are more concerned about their children getting addicted to drugs than their children’s education and are eager to sell their property and send their children abroad. Sandhwan said that it was a result of the collusion between the Badals and Captain that the report of the committee investigating the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji was quashed by the court for which Captain’s Advocate General Atul Nanda was responsible. Asking those raising questions on the probe reports of the SIT, Sandhwan said, “Did the police not fire on the sangat. Didn’t two Sikhs die?” He appealed to the people to form the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab so that the people could be provided cheap electricity, water and other facilities like in Delhi.
