The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema lashed out at the ruling Congress, stating that the Congress government had surpassed the previous Badal government of the SAD-BJP in running the mafia government. “Power-drunk, the Congressmen are looting the resources of the state by being unabashed,” he said. On Saturday, Harpal Singh Cheema visited Taragarh town of the constituency in a function organised by party’s SC Wing state president and Bhoa Assembly constituency in-charge, Lal Chand Kataruchak.
Meanwhile in jolt to the BJP, Khushbir Singh Katal joined the AAP along with several associates, who were welcomed by Harpal Singh Cheema, Lal Chand Kataruchak and district president Captain Sunil Gupta. Cheema said the people suffering from the Badal-BJP mafia rule had once again committed a mistake of trusting the Congress. “This is the reason why every section of Punjab has been remorseful today. The ruling Congress has surpassed the Badals and the BJP in running the mafia rule,” he added.
Cheema said that Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was talking big in the name of Punjab, was first running for the chair and today when he got the chair of presidency; he had forgotten all the good and bad, in the lust for power. He said Navjot Singh Sidhu, who had been making series of tweets and statements for action against the land mafia, sand mafia, power mafia, transport and cable mafia, opposing his own government; now in a bid to save his seat was visiting the Congress MLAs running the mafia today. “Navjot Sidhu has forgotten the difference between gentle politicians and mafia kingpins. Today the real face of Navjot Singh Sidhu has been exposed in front of the people; which has come as a shock to the benevolent and friendly people of Punjab,” said Cheema.
Targeting Bhoa Congress MLA Joginderpal, Harpal Singh Cheema said, “Who is the ‘King’ of the sand mafia in Kiri Khurd, Katlaur, Narot Jamal Singh,” adding that every child in the area knows about this. He said the whole area also knows which Congressman had amassed hundreds of acres of land in the area of Sundar Chakk and Kiri. Referring to the sand and land mafia being run jointly by the ruling Congressmen, the BJP MLAs and the Badals in Pathankot’s Mirthal, Madhopur and Mukerian-Talwara in Pathankot, Cheema said the people of Punjab were determined to form the Aam Aadmi Party government in 2022.
He said the AAP government would create a prosperous Punjab by stopping the looting of people and state capital and would hold those who have looted Punjab and its people accountable. On the occasion, district general secretary Thakur Manohar Singh, senior leader Vijay Kataruchak, block president Surinder Shah, Pawan Kumar, Naresh Saini, Rinka Saini, Raman Kumar, Sohan Lal, Baljinder Kaur, Dalwinder Rana, Sukhbir Singh, Kulbir, along with several party volunteers were present.
