Corruption will be curtailed due to audit in Municipal Corporation / Municipalities – Urban Local Bodies Minister

NHM budget increased from Rs 500 crore to 1,350 crore- Vij

So far, 1.30 crore beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the State- Anil Vij

Chandigarh, August 11– Haryana Home, Health and Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that in order to eradicate corruption in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities, the proposal to get audit done by the Accountant General was approved in the Cabinet Meeting. He said that this proposal was placed by him in the Cabinet Meeting.

He said this while interacting with the mediapersons here today.

He said that the work of pending files should be finished  immediately by the officials, as these files are for the benefit of the people and justice should be brought to the people.

He said that he had suspended three police personnel, including an SHO, and an FIR was registered against another for the pendency of files during inspection at the Panchkula police station.

Responding to a question about the Supreme Court’s order regarding criminal cases registered against MLAs and MPs, he said that he welcomes the decision.

Similarly, in response to another question regarding sanitation workers, he said that he has sought complete information from the Urban Local Bodies Department about the employees on-rolled in municipal corporations, municipal councils and municipalities.

In response to another question regarding the NHM meeting, he said that the meeting of NHM is held twice in a year. He added that when the present Government came to power, the budget of NHM was Rs. 500 crore and in view of excellent performance the budget has been enhanced to Rs.1350 crore. He said that this has been done keeping in view the performance enhancement of all types of health services including IMR, MMR and institutional deliveries.

In response to the question asked regarding the third wave of corona infection, he said that people of the state can save the State from the third wave as if people will adhere to corona protocols such as wearing masks, social distancing etc., then it won’t come.

Apart from this, the State Government is laying emphasis on vaccination and so far 1.30 crore beneficiaries have been vaccinated. He said that it is the aim of State Government to vaccinate the eligible beneficiaries as soon as possible because vaccination is the only shield to protect against corona.
