One Crore 11 Lakh Children To Be Administered Polio Dose
Three-day Phase of National Pulse Polio Campaign Launched
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the National Pulse Polio Campaign on “Polio Sunday” launched the vaccination programme being conducted in the urban and rural areas of all the districts of the state on February 27, 28 and March 2 by giving polio drops to children at his official residence. Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary was also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan administered drops to 11 children including Akhil, Sanju, Disha, Aaradhya Dwivedi and Saanvi Malviya. Thanking Chief Minister Chouhan, a nine-year-old girl, Sushri Priyanshi Shukla, urged him to give his autograph on a picture. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan had administered medicine to this girl five years ago.
No child should be deprived of medicine
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the Government of India and the Government of Madhya Pradesh have run this campaign continuously for many years. The state and the country have to be made polio free. This campaign is going on continuously under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In Madhya Pradesh, the campaign has been running smoothly for the last 15 years. The Health Department deserves congratulations for this. I myself have been associated with these campaigns. It is our resolve that Madhya Pradesh will also be free from polio, our country will also get rid of polio. This campaign is very important to achieve this. I would like to request all the citizens of the country that no child should be deprived of the polio dose. Health department teams are reaching every centre. No child should be deprived of Pulse Polio medicine, every child should get two drops of medicine. He/She will remain happy. He/She will be protected from diseases. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan congratulated the Health Minister and the entire team of the Health Department.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was accompanied by Health Minister Dr. Chaudhary, Additional Chief Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary Public Relations Shri Raghvendra Kumar Singh, Health Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade and Mission Director of NHM Smt. Priyanka Das were also present.
National Pulse Polio Campaign in Madhya Pradesh at a Glance
Under the National Pulse Polio Campaign, the campaign was launched by Chief Minister Shri Chouhan by giving two drops of polio vaccine to the children, he has appealed to the parents of all those children, who are eligible for this dose, to give this dose to the children on February 27 and 28 and March 2. In Madhya Pradesh, one crore 11 lakh children up to the age of 5 years will be given “two drops of life dose”. On the first day of the campaign, 83 thousand 261 booths, 4,252 transit booths, 12 thousand 996 high risk areas and migratory booths have been set up for Polio Sunday. Of these, one lakh 67 thousand 635 vaccinators will give polio doses to children.
The National Pulse Polio Campaign will be held on February 27, 28 and March 2. In Madhya Pradesh, one crore 11 lakh children in the age group of 0 to 5 years will be given “Two drops of life dose”. In view of Mahashivratri festival in the state, transit booths have been set up at many fair sites for administering polio medicine. Apart from this, the mobile teams of the Health Department will reach out to the brick kilns, crushers, slums and nomadic population and give doses to the eligible children. Mobile teams will be active in all government institutions, Anganwadi centres, airports, railway stations, bus stands.
