Chandigarh, December 1: British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh, Caroline Rowett said that the culture and folk art of Haryana is incomparable in itself. She said that the ancient cultural heritage of India can also be seen in these folk arts and folk dances. “The state government has done a commendable job by organizing programs like the International Gita Mahotsav to promote these folk arts. For this, the state government, Kurukshetra Development Board and the local administration deserve appreciation,” she added.

She was sharing her thoughts with the officials after visiting the Shilp and Saras Mela of the International Gita Mahotsav on Thursday. Earlier, the British Deputy High Commissioner was felicitated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani, CEO KDB Chandrakant Kataria, KDB Member Saurabh Chaudhary and KDB Member KC Ranga and the officials gave a detailed feedback about the International Gita Mahotsav.

During her visit to the exhibitions, the British Deputy High Commissioner also interacted with the members of the Self Help Group. She also appreciated the craftsmanship of the partner state Madhya Pradesh.
