“ Both the Congress and the AAP are making a last minute attempt to derail the narrative of peace, communal harmony and development as they have been stunned by the mounting surge of Akali wave as the polling date draws closer. This is what lies at the root of their mutually orchestrated conspiracies to inject a new communal element into the campaign. But the SAD-BSP will not allow any attempts at communal polarisation to succeed,” said Mr Harcharan Bains, Principal Advisor to Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Addressing media persons at the party headquarters here this afternoon, Mr Bains said that the reason behind this swing towards communal polarization is that AAP’s “social media bubble” has suddenly burst. The bubble was created by pumping in thousands of crores of rupees into a massive publicity and propaganda campaign through fake news, fake surveys etc. But now the realization has dawned on them that these ploys have not been able to stop the SAD-BSP upsurge. “
Mr Bains said that AAP and Congress have realized that they have lost the election already but this has driven to the desperate, last minute resort to playing the Hindu-Sikh communal card.”
Asserting that attempts to divide Punjabis will never be allowed to succeed, Mr Bains said, “Punjab is another name for human brotherhood. where the dominant communities Hindus and Sikhs have always coexisted in mutual love and trust with Muslims and Christians. No one will be able to divide us.”
Mr Bains fired a volley of questions at the AAP leader, Bhagwant Mann, questioning him on what the SAD leader described as “Mann’s deafening silence on all emotional issues” concerning the Punjabi language, culture and the heritage of the great Gurus. “Kejrival is seeking a “mauka” in Punjab. Then why have they shut the doors on Punjabi language, culture and on Sikhs in the AAP govt in Delhi ? Why, for the first time since independence, there is no Punjabi or Sikh Minister in the AAP govt in Delhi where the Punjabis have the strongest presence after Punjab? There can be Punjabi and Sikh ministers in Canada but not in Delhi.
Why? Why has the Kejrival govt dropped Punjabi language as a subject from all schools of the Delhi Board? Why have they recruited four times less teachers in Punjabi than in Sanskrit , a language which no one in Delhi speaks? Why have they insulted the Punjabi language and culture by appointing a non-Punjabi junior govt official as chairman of the Delhi Punjabi Academy, a post reserved for Prestigious writers like the late Amrita Pritam, or Surjit Patar? The man they have appointed as chairman is neither a Punjabi writer nor can he read, write or speak Punjabi? Why has Kejrival heaped this insult on Punjabi language and culture? Why have they blocked recognition to martial sports associated with Guru Gobind Singh ji?
Why does Bhagwant Mann refuse to answer questions on the humiliation heaped on his predecessors like Harvinder Singh Phoolka , Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Harinder Singh Khalsa, Kanwar Sandhu, Sukhpal Khehra, Dharamveer Gandhi, Dr Daljit Singh of Amritsar and others? And why is Bhagwant Mann watching as a mute witness the lies of Kejrival on Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar which now stand fully exposed? And why can AAP find no spokesman from Punjab or at least someone who can speak to Punjabis in their mother tongue instead of non-Punjabis like Kejrival and Raghav Chaddha whose refusal to speak Punjabi even in Punjab is well known? ” asked Mr Bains, adding that while AAP’s Delhi leaders occupy the microphone, the AAP’s Punjab spokespersons like Mr Sanghera are made to sit there as helpless and mute spectators.
