MORE THAN 10K DAPOs WORKING IN DIST.

Drug Abuse Prevention Officers (DAPO) are playing an important role to curb the menace of drugs and 10,883 DAPOs have been registered in the district which also includes Sarpanches, Panches, Block Samiti and Zila Parishad members.’ Giving details about the Anti Drug Campaign Girish Dyalan, Deputy Commissioner, said that people’s participation in the war against drugs have been ensured through DAPO program.
Under this Program, DAPOs were making the people aware of the ill effects of the drugs and they deal with the drug affected people and their families in a sympathetic way to motivate them for the proper treatment.
State Government has been providing free treatment to drug affected people through its Drug De-addiction centers and OOAT clinics.
Government was also organizing online seminars and workshops to create awareness against drugs. DAPOs were identifying the vulnerable persons in the society and prevent them from falling into the quagmire of drug abuse.
Moreover, they were also promoting social welfare activities, assisting in proper vigilance and security of the locality.
