Punjab Mines and Geology, Water Resources, Conservation of Soil and Water, Minister, Barinder Kumar Goyal will unfurl the National Flag at Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminder Pal Singh Government College Stadium, Mohali on January 26, 2025 to mark celebrations of 76th R Day.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain who along with SSP Deepak Pareek took stock of Full Dress Rehearsal, here, today, said that the District Administration and Police are fully geared up for R Day Celebrations. Enhanced security arrangements have been done by the District Police to make the National Importance Function successful.

She also inspected the Parade and March Past. Three Police platoons, including one of women police, platoons of NCC cadets and school bands of various schools participated in the March Past led by DSP Preet Kanwar Singh as Parade Commander.

About 1586 students from 14 schools and one college presented a grand show full of patriotic zeal. Students performed zealously during the cultural events with their various dance songs, choreographies and other activities based on patriotic themes including the students of School of Eminence Phase-11, Mohali, School of Eminence Phase – 3B1, Mohali, Sant Ishar Singh Public School Mohali, APJ School Mundi Kharar, Lawrence Public School Mohali, Gilco International School, Kharar, Swami Ram Tirath  School, Mohali and Government Primary School, Phase 3B1, Mohali. The platoons who took part in the Parade included NCC cadets from Govt College Mohali, Shivalik School Phase-6  Mohali, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kurali, Lakshmi Tara Rathaur School Sialba Majri, Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Swara and band teams from Government Girls senior Secondary School Sohana and  School of Eminence, 3B1, Mohali.

After inspecting the full dress rehearsal, the deputy commissioner issued necessary directions to the various departments engaged in arrangements to make the R-Day Celebrations a great success. She said that the preparations for this mega event were going on in full swing and every effort would be made to make sure that the Day of National Importance should be celebrated with full patriotic and Nationalistic fervor.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the officers have been assigned duties regarding the event and any sort of reluctance in the duty would be unwarranted and undesirable.
