Appeals Muslims to offer Namaz in their homes to stay safe
JAMMU, MAY 12, 2021: To finalize the arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr and implementation of restrictions related to Covid-19, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of representatives of religious organisations and district officials of various departments, here at conference hall of DC Office.
During the meeting, the Muslim community was urged to offer Eid Namaz and perform other prayers from the safety of their homes and do not gather at mosques, which was supported and endorsed by the representatives of the religious organisations present in the meeting.
Taking stock of the supply of ration and other essential commodities, the DC directed the officers of FCS&CA to ensure that all eligible ration card holders were provided with ration in the district and no household is left out.
With regard to power and water supply, the DC urged upon sectoral officers of PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity on the auspicious occasion of Eid so that people do not face any inconvenience for want of basic amenities.
The DC also enjoined upon officers to intensify market checking in the district to ensure that the people get quality commodities at Government fixed rates.
He directed the concerned enforcement wings to keep strict check on quality and rates of Mutton, Chicken, Fruit, Vegetables, Bakery and other essentials to curb any hoardings and profiteering. He also stressed on strict adherence to Covid-19 Appropriate Behavior at these shops to avoid spread of Covid-19 infection.
The DC also directed for maintaining cleanliness in market places, mosques and other areas in the district.
ADC (L&O) Ghanshyam Singh, ACG Rakesh Dubey besides other sectoral officers of line departments were present in the meeting.
