KATHUA, APRIL 28: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav today visited Covid Care Centres of Kathua Urban and reviewed the functioning and preparedness in view of resurgence of Covid-19 cases.
At Covid Care Centre, Polytechnic College, Badala, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the 150 bedded Covid Care facility and interacted with staff and enquired about the facilities being given to the patients.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited newly designated Covid Health Centre at CHC Parole with capacity intake of 30 patients. He directed concerned authorities to take immediate steps to increase the capacity to 50 beds and explore options to make it 100 bedded facility to accommodate more patients.
Accompanied by Nodal Officer, Covid Centres Dr Sandeep Raina, the DC visited Covid Care Centre established at Engineering College, Janglote and reviewed the arrangements and status of required infrastructure for 240 bedded facility for Covid patients. He directed health authorities to make the facility readily available by tomorrow.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that steps have taken to establish Covid care centres across the district to accommodate the Covid patients. He said necessary medical infrastructure and other amenities for patients are being ensured to make sufficient provision to meet out any contingency.
While giving details of the intake capacity of patients, the DC disclosed that in addition to existing 440 beds at Kathua Urban, provision of 30 bedded Covid care facility has been made at Community Hall Hiranagar.
He further added that steps have been taken to make 80 bedded facilities at Billawar, 20 at Bani, 50 Bedded Covid Care Centres at Basohli which will be available for giving medical care in a few days.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that to closely monitor the Covid situation and to take analysis of the situation on daily basis, his office will convene a meeting with officers of the Medical Education and Health Department at 4pm every day.
