DC Orders MC Zirakpur for Redesigning and updation of Baltana Bridge over Sukhna Choe

Taking a serious view of the problems in smooth commuting over the Sukhna Choe’s Baltana Bridge, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain has directed the Municipal Council to go for its raising by redesigning and updation as soon as possible. Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that the repair work was hampered by the heavy downpour in the previous days and it has been noticed that the water overflowed the bridge. Now, as a temporary measure, after clearing the mud from the bridge, tiling work would be done to make it smooth for commuters besides reinstalling proper railing. The ongoing repair work would be completed in the next ten days, she added. The Deputy Commissioner further said that the Municipal Council has also been asked to get the work done as early as possible, keeping in view the problem being faced by the residents. Apart from that the Drainage Department has been directed to assist the redesigning of the bridge as per the requirement on the ground so that the water couldn’t overflow and the issue be resolved permanently.
