UDHAMPUR, MAY 24, 2021: District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today convened a meeting with BDC,DDC, officers, contractors and representatives of executing agencies to review the progress of work on the Udhampur – Latti –Marothi road, here at Mini Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by chairperson, BDC Chenani, Parkash Chand, DDC member Chenani, Usha Devi, SE PMGSY, SE PWD, Xens PMGSY, PWD, GM NHIDCL Chenani –Sudh Mahadev road and the officers of other departments besides Contractors.
Detailed discussions were held on various issues, which included estimation of utilities coming in the alignment, status of land acquisition on re-aligned stretches, speeding of the work to meet timelines etc.
The DC asked the executing agency to update daily progress of the road and share the achievements with district Administration.
Earlier, during an extensive tour to Tehsil Chenani and Latti Marothi conducted to inspect the working of Covid Care Centres and vaccination drive in the twin Tehsils, the DC had observed that many stretches of the Udhampur to Latti –Marothi road was in a dilapidated condition, besides the progress of the road work are not upto the mark.
The DC expressed anguish over slow progress of work and contractors were asked to expedite the construction and complete it within given timeline.
The DC directed the concerned authorities for resolving the pendency of issues and removing bottlenecks if any on priority so that execution of works of road shall not be delayed.
