DC Samba reviews implementation of District Environment plan (DEP)
SAMBA, JULY 25 2021 District Development Commissioner (Chairperson Dist Environment Committee) Samba Anuradha Gupta today exhorted upon the District Environment Committee (DEC) to conduct massive plantation during the current Monsoon season to enrich the environment around.
She was chairing a meeting of the District Environment Committee held here to review the implementation of the District Environment Plan.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma gave a brief presentation on the role and responsibilities of various departments as per the District Environment plan prepared and submitted to JKPCB and CPCB as per the directions of National Green Tribunal and execution of works as per plan in a phased manner to comply with the direction.
The Chairperson reviewed the progress achieved by various departments and exhorted upon the Dist Officers to workout strategies for execution of works like solid/liquid waste management, 100% Garbage Collection and its segregation in Urban as well as Rural areas, measures to check Industrial Pollution, Air Quality Monitoring and massive plantation in and around Industrial Estates by SIDCO/ SICOP and other departments in eroded and vulnerable areas.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, General Manager, DIC, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Divisional Forest Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Officer, PCB; Executive Officers Of all ULBs, Mining & other members of DEC were present.
