District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg distributed sanction letters among 20 beneficiaries for establishment of self income generating units under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme( PMEGP), here.
These sanction letters were distributed during a function organized by JK Bank in collaboration with District Lead Bank, Kupwara. Under this scheme, these beneficiaries will be given a loan of Rs 1.35 crore for entrepreneurship in different trades.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC asked the youth to come forward and take advantage of the scheme provided by the government from time to time for welfare and employment of the youth. He said the Government has approved various Self employment schemes like PMEGP for educated unemployed youth with best employment opportunities. It was given out that over 350 cases have been sanctioned during the current financial year so far and more such cases are under process at different financial institutions in the district.
The 20 educated unemployed youth who got loan for establishment of different units include Tailoring units, Walnut processing, Automobile workshop, Hollow Blocks, Boutique and Readymade, Gabasazi, Diagnostic centre, Mixer Shuttering, processing of plastic Waste, Iron Gates and Grilling, Xerox Centre and KCC Agriculture.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Lone, Cluster Head J K Bank and other concerned were present at the occasion.
