Chandigarh Nov 5 – As part of the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ being observed by the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau, a felicitation function was organized for the complainants who played a proactive role in realizing the state government’s drive to make Haryana corruption free.
During the event organized at Vigilance headquarters in Panchkula today, Director General State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana, Sh Shatrujeet Kapur honored the complainants by giving ‘Samman Patras’ who had lodged complaints against corrupt officials demanding bribe.
While encouraging the complainants, he said that they had played a major role in building an honest society by exposing the name of corrupt officials. In today’s era, it is not easy to complain because there is a huge number of corrupt people in the society. After the complaint, the complainant has to face many pressures till the disposal of the case. In order to give corruption-free governance in the state, all of them have made invaluable contribution in the service of the nation.
Sh Kapur further said that the Vigilance Bureau would publicize the Toll-free numbers 1800-180-2022 and 1064 and WhatsApp number 094178-91064 for lodging complaints against corruption in a big way so that more and more citizens can contribute in the fight against corruption.
Interacting with the complainants, he said that State government had already approved the Vigilance Bureau’s proposal for setting up of Rs 1 crore revolving fund to provide ‘trap money’ to the aggrieved people lodging complaints against government officials demanding bribe. As soon as it is implemented, people will no longer have to worry about arranging the trap money from their own pockets, he added.
So far this year, the Bureau has repaire registered a record 143 trap cases and arrested more than 150 corrupt officials in the state, including many Class I and II officers.
Additional Director General of Police, State Vigilance Bureau Sh Ajay Singhal and DIG Vigilance Headquarters Sh Pankaj Nain were also present on the occasion.
It was also informed that the main objective of observing the Vigilance Awareness Week is to generate awareness among the people about the services of the Vigilance Bureau. Apart from this, if any officials of any government department demands bribe in lieu of official duty, in that case, a complaint may be given at toll-free numbers 1800-180-2022 and 1064, Whatsapp number 094178-91064 and email [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. Every citizen can make a fruitful contribution in the fight against corruption. It is the joint responsibility of all of us to eradicate corruption from the government system and every citizen should cooperate in this direction.
It is worthwhile to mention that Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed by Haryana State Vigilance Bureau from 31st October to 6th November.
