The welfare of officers and jawans is among our top priority and all genuine issues are being taken up with the government. Women are being posted for one year in their home as well as the districts that to which their in-laws belong. Now an advance list is prepared for promotion and promotion takes place as soon as the post becomes vacant. He instructed the Range Heads to follow this good practice of PHQ also in the promotions to be done at the Range level, which encourages the welfare of cops.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s announcement concerning promotion in the rank of Honorary Inspector one month before retirement, he said that formalities are almost completed in this direction and it would be implemented in the coming few months. Regarding the disparity in promotion from constable to the post of head constable, he said that the proposal regarding this is expected to be approved by the State Government soon. As soon as approval is received, all the constables who have imparted training in the lower school so far can be promoted as head constables.

The DGP also emphasized the need to increase health awareness among policemen. He expressed regret that every year about 200 personnel of Haryana Police lose their lives. Upon study, it was found that most of the deaths occurred, either due to diseases owing to the wrong lifestyle or in road accidents. We have to reduce it by at least 50 percent, he added. For this, he accorded permission to prepare gymnasium, sports facility in every district headquarters and to prepare and implement an action plan for high-level annual health check-up. He said that an App would be made to monitor health. Through this App, employees, as well as officers, would be able to view the health records of the employees under them on mobile. With this, preventive measures would be possible before a serious health problem arises, he added.

Referring to the housing and other infrastructure facilities, he said that the state government is also aware of this.
