DIC Jammu hold awareness camps on PMEGP

In a special drive to aware the youth of far flung areas including Border Villages and SC / ST villages, about the benefits of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program, a series of awareness camps were organized in Arnia and Marh blocks by District Industries Centre, Jammu.
The camps were held here under the overall supervision of General Manager, DIC Jammu, Subah Mehta.

Teams consisted of Parteek Panjathia, Functional Manager, Shivang Gupta, IPO and Vishav Partap, BI for Marh Block and Amit Digra, IPO, Sajid Malik, IPO and Abhay Gupta, IPO for Arnia Block.
During the camps, special stress was laid on the registration of SC / ST un-employed youth with the active participation of public representatives, including Sarpanches and Panches. In all 20 un-employed youth were registered on the spot for grant of PMEGP loan on subsidized rates.
Moreover, door to door campaign was also conducted by the teams in the respective areas.
The people from the Villages Kathar, Alla, Adlehar, Keryal, Bhadurpur and Pindi areas of Block Arnia and Sangrampur, Gho-Manhsa, Tikri and Khanpur areas of Block Marh participated in the camps.
The team heads highlighted the intensives available under “Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP]”. The un-employed youth can avail the credit-linked subsidized loan for starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors.
The Participants were informed that an applicant can avail a loan up to Rs. 10.00 lakh under services sector and up-to Rs 25.00 lakh under the manufacturing sector with the margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35%. Persons of minimum 18 year age and middle pass can apply under this scheme.
Moreover, the beneficiary under this scheme becomes eligible for expansion of the previous PMEGP unit for up to Rs 25 lakh in the Service Sector and up to Rs. 1.00 Crore in Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time.
They further highlighted the objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria in detail so that the youngster can become the job provider instead of job seekers. The minimum documents required for the scheme are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport Size Photographs- 2 Nos., Detailed Project Report (DPR), Highest education Qualification Certificate, Rural Area Certificate – attested by Sarpanch (in case of Rural Area Units) and Category Certificate-SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped / Ex-serviceman (if any).
The projects for which applicants were on spot registered included Boutique, Saloon, Furniture manufacturing, Paper Cups & Plates, and Decoration among others.
The teams deputed for the camps motivated the youth to avail the benefits of PMEGP scheme to start their ventures under the service / manufacturing sectors and extended the gratitude towards the public representatives and participants.
