KARGIL AUGUST 27, 2020: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan reviewed the status of implementation of the COVID-19 SOPs in various containment zones and the screening and sampling of inbound passengers in the district during a meeting with the concerned officers at Council Secretariat here today.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Kargil Tsering Motup, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Salim Wazir besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting the CEC inquired from the officers concerned about the present status of surveillance measures in the Containment and Buffer Zones to contain the transmission of COVID-19, collection and dispatch of samples for testing, provision of essential and non-essential commodities and other required measures.
The CEC while underlining the need for an efficient information sharing mechanism with regard to the status of COVID-19 as well as inbound passengers in the district directed the ASP Kargil and CMO Kargil to ensure submission of data about the screened/sampled inbound passengers and vehicles at all the entry points to the District Magistrate on daily basis by 5 PM every day. CEC Khan also asked the ADM Kargil to issue consolidated data to the media on daily basis.
The CEC also instructed the CMO Kargil to visit Meenamarg for selection of site for enabling testing of all inbound passengers besides also ensuring the submission of report by BMO Tai Suru about all containment zones in Tai Suru Block to the ADM Kargil and SDM Sankoo immediately.
Meanwhile, CEC Khan also asked the ADM Kargil to review the containment zones based on the report furnished by the BMO Tai Suru at the earliest while the CMO Kargil was directed to submit a report of Kargil Town to Tehsildar Kargil to be taken up with District Magistrate Kargil for review of containment of Kargil Town. The CEC also directed the ADM to formulate SOPs for Muharram processions for timely information of the organizers so that the Muharram processions are carried out smoothly keeping in view the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
