Chandigarh, August 23 2021 Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal informed that the 36 societies formed by the State Government for Aarohi Model Schools were dissolved and they were run by a State Level Society named ‘Haryana Aarohi Educationally Backward Block Model School Society’. Presently classes from VI to XII are running in these schools.
While responding to a question raised in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Vidhan Sabha today Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that the State Government had decided to implement the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for setting up of Model Schools in the educationally backward blocks of the State during the year 2010-11. The scheme was funded on 75 percent funding pattern from the Central Government and 25 percent from the state.
The Education Minister apprised the House that after the approval of the Project Approval Board, Aarohi Model Schools were established on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas in 36 educationally backward blocks of 10 districts of the State. Initially, a separate society was formed for each school under the chairmanship of the respective Deputy Commissioners for the operation of these 36 Aarohi Model Schools coming under 10 districts. However, from the financial year 2015-16, the funding of this scheme by the Central Government has been stopped. Now, this scheme is being run by the State Government and these schools are being completely funded by the state government only.
