Quality, accessible healthcare services being provided to the hospitalized, home isolated patients
SHOPIAN, MAY 22, 2021: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today made it clear that the District Administration is well equipped to tackle the 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic and that the District Administration is on forefront to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection in the district.
The DC said this while briefing the media about the present situation of Covid in the district.
He said that the District Administration is keeping close vigil on the situation arising due to the Covid-19 spike and is also playing a major role for providing quality and accessible healthcare services to the hospitalized as well as home isolated patients.
The home isolated patients are provided medical kits and a team of doctors along with a physician is carrying out check up of them on a daily basis and also better treatment is being provided to them.
To provide healthcare facilities to the patients at the Panchayat level, a capacity of 5 beds along with requisite requirements in each Panchayat is being established DC, maintained.
The positive rate of cases in the District is declining and recovery rate is increasing day by day in the district, he said.
After imposing lockdown and Covid curfew in the district, continuous decline was witnessed in number of positive cases, and added that 99 percent vaccination process was completed till date said the DC, adding that all the Magistrates have been directed to conduct house to house survey so that any left out may be vaccinated to get rid of the virus. More and more testing programmes are being conducted so that no one is left without testing.
DC said that all the requisite precautionary measures are being taken to defeat the 2nd wave of Covid-19 as the first wave was defeated which yielded good results.
The DC observed that the District Administration is aiming to make the healthcare system one of the best in the district and called for strenuous efforts from all the stakeholders to improve the health services delivery and to strengthen the patient care system.
The DH, PHCs and other Sub-Centres in the district are well prepared and well equipped with all the medical facilities to meet any eventuality arising due to the virus in the District.
He said medical oxygen as one of the key requirements in case of severe cases in Covid care hospital has been made available to meet the demand.
All the Magistrates, Police, and health functionaries are working in mission mode with great dedication, zest and zeal.
He appealed to people to strictly follow the SOPs and other guidelines issued by the Government, besides desist from coming out of their homes unnecessarily.
