Reviewing the progress of all the banks for the quarter ending September-2023 under Annual Credit Plan 2023-24 during the meeting of District Consultative Committee of Banks, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Mrs Sonam Chaudhary advised the Bankers to keep a proactive and sympathetic approach towards pending applications under all Govt Sponsored schemes.
She further added that mission mode approach is required from banker fraternity in order to achieve District Targets and upliftment of needy and poor. She also instructed all bankers to ensure clearing all the applications received under Govt sponsored schemes on top priority. She also advised all sponsoring agencies to be in regular touch with Lead District Manager and concerned bank officials for quick disposal of their applications under various schemes.
ADC (RD) also launched the Potential Linked Plan (PLP) for the year 2024-25 for district Mohali prepared by NABARD. M. K. Bhardwaj, Chief Lead District Manager informed that the district has surpassed the Priority Sector targets with an achievement of 43 percent against the National goal of 40. Similarly, the Credit Deposit Ratio stands at 62 percent against the National goal of 60. All the banks were advised to enroll the maximum number of applicants under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna campaigns restarted from 01.10.2023 to 31.12.2023. Chief LDM also urged the private sector banks to give special focus on social security schemes launched by Government of India like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna. Banks were asked to clear all the applications under PM SVANIdhi on a regular basis. LDM also asked the banks to increase advances in the agriculture sector and weaker sector in the district.
Ms Parvinder Nagra, AGM NABARD apprised about the various subsidies in Government sponsored schemes being provided by NABARD to uplift and encourage the public engaged in self employment through these schemes.
Vikram Dhaanda (AGM), Reserve Bank of India, said that all banks should put special efforts to cover all the left out accounts in Digitalization so that our District achieves 100 percent Digitalization in the upcoming quarter. He added that bank branches should ensure strict adherence to Reserve Bank of India guidelines. He also focused on increasing financial literacy and digital awareness among rural people. Dhaanda also advised bankers to clear their pendency of all sponsored cases especially, PM Svanidhi and RSETI etc. He also urged bankers in Mohali to increase their agriculture loan portfolio.
Pankaj Anand DGM also requested all Banker fraternity to join hands for upliftment of rural poor by their Bank linkage, by providing them credit facilities and covering them under Social Security schemes. This is our primary responsibility to ensure social welfare, he added. He also ensured District Administration that Banks will put their best efforts for the smooth implementation of all the Government Schemes besides achieving all the priority sector targets of the district in the upcoming quarter.
