5207 works being executed to generate 18 Lakhs PDs: Saraf Singh Nag
REASI, MAY 15, 2021: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Reasi Saraf Singh Nag today held a meeting through virtual mode with all members of the council to approve MGNREGA plan for the year 2021-22.
Vice Chairperson (Member DDC Gulabgarh) Sajra Qadir, Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Anirudh Rai and Block Development officers also attended the meeting through google meet.
While approving the plan, the Chairperson stressed on immediate estimation and start of works under MGNREGA so that poor Job card workers do not suffer for want of work during the pandemic.
He also urged the DDC members to extend full support in the execution and close monitoring of the works being executed under various schemes so that durable assets are created by utilizing hundred percent allocated funds.
Meanwhile, DDC members also raised the issues of water shortage in Laiter panchayat, free movement of nomads towards hilly regions, non-supply of food grains in Jij Bagli areas and time bound supply of other essential commodities at door steps of people during the lock down period.
The chairperson also appreciated the Rural Development Department for formulating plan in time bound manner after conducting Gram Sabhas with the involvement of PRIs and all stakeholders. He further asked the members to initiate massive drive for hundred percent COVID vaccination of eligible persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairperson also urged for providing all basic facilities to the areas of Gulabgarh, Mahore, Chassana and other hilly belts of district where people have been struck due to the lock down.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Development a gave a detailed deliberation on the MGNREGA plan and highlighted various aspects and further course of action for providing employment to the workers under the scheme.
