Directs to create similar facilities at district level; sharing of information about bed availability in designated Covid hospitals; monitoring of Oxygen consumption to reduce wastage
JAMMU, MAY 5: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today reviewed the working of Triage facility at Chest Diseases Hospital, including admissions/ referral to Government Medical College and Covid designated hospitals here at a meeting of the concerned held at GMC -Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; Managing Director, National Health Mission, Yasin Choudhary; Principal GMC, Shashi Sudhan; besides Medical Superintendents of GMC, Super Specialty, MCH & CD Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, HODs of Medicines, Anesthesia, Surgery, Orthopedics, Nodal officers of Covid control rooms and other concerned.
The Divisional Commissioner took a thorough review of the immediate issues related to the management of Covid-19 positive patients, functioning of Covid triage facility at CD Hospital Jammu and referral of patients to GMC and other designated Covid hospitals etc.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding various corrective steps that need to be taken for the better covid management and containment measures.
The Divisional Commissioner emphasized that Triage points should have all the details of bed occupancy and availability in GMC and associated hospitals. He also instructed the Hospital managements to designate one person of their Hospital for timely sharing of the details of bed availability.
Keeping in view the rising demand of hospitalization in Jammu, the Div Com directed for developing triage facilities in all districts of the division so that patients who require level 2 and level 3 care be treated at district hospitals and only patients requiring level 1 care be referred to Jammu.
It was informed in the meeting that orders have already been issued regarding the segregation of positive patients with all Covid positive deliveries and dialysis to be done in Gandhi Nagar Hospital old block.
The Divisional Commissioner directed to constitute teams of supervisors and Bio Medical Engineers for each COVID ward for maintaining hourly log of the oxygen consumption and pressure details. The ways to further reduce the wastage from ports at the patient’s end were also discussed.
While discussing the shifting of covid patients to designated covid hospitals, it was decided that more ambulances in addition to 108 be deployed for their hassle free transportation.
