Rupnagar, October 7:
As per the directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and in light of ongoing special campaign of Punjab against Drug Addiction, a special programme organized at Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Baba Jujhar Singh Memorial College, Bela, Rupnagar by DLSA Rupnagar.
On the occasion special skit on ill effects of drugs was presented by the students of Primary School and Nursing College. The message given through the special play/skits is impactful. In addition poster making competition was got organized for the students in which students depicted the practical realities of Drug Addiction.
While addressing the students, Ms. Himanshi Galhotra, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Rupnagar stated that drug addiction is biggest threat in the society today. It affects not only a person but his entire family. Loss is not only personal but monetary social and health. One should help himself and be safe from drugs by being aware about drug addiction and preventing it.
She appealed to students to spread the message of Say No To Drugs and even help their near and dear ones to save themselves from the drugs and re-establish themselves as a responsible citizen of society.
She further told that the special campaign shall remain in progress during entire month of October in District Rupnagar under which special seminars and events on drug addiction shall be held. Till date education, Health, jail, police, and civil administration have joined the campaign. In the upcoming weeks other departments shall also be associated in the campaign.
