District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar have provided legal services to 300 legal aid seekers during the last quarter, said the District and Sessions Judge-cum- Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Atul Kasana during the quarterly review meeting.
He further said that to promote the settling of cases through mediation, as many as 315 cases were referred to the Mediation Centre.Chairing the quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar for quarter ending September 30, 2024, District and Sessions Judge Atul Kasana said that besides this, sensitization programme was organized for Special Juvenile Police Officers for adhering to the rules of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
Session Judge further revealed during the Meeting that upcoming National Lok Adalat shall be held on 14.12.2024 in which Criminal Compoundable Offences, NI Act cases under Section-138, Bank Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour disputes, Land Acquisition cases, Electricity and Water Bills (Excluding non-compoundable theft cases), Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retiral benefits, Revenue Cases and other Civil Cases (Rent, Easmentary Rights, Injunction Suits, Specific Performance suits) etc. shall be taken up.
In the meeting, the progress report of work done by DLSA, SAS Nagar during previous quarter was put up by Ms. Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar.
Meeting was attended by Sh. Ajit Attri, Additional District & Sessions Judge-I, Sh. Anish Goyal, Chief Judicial Magistrate; Ms. Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, DLSA, SAS Nagar, Sh. Talwinder Singh, DSP(D), Sh. Sukhdev Singh, District Attorney, SAS Nagar and Sh. S.K. Sinha, Member DLSA.
