REASI, MAY 31, 2021: District Legal Service Authority, Reasi today organised an Online Sensitization Programme for the Senior Police Officers,SHOs and Prosecuting Officers of District Reasi on the theme ‘Ensuring Compliance of Directions of the Supreme Court laid down in Arnesh Kumar V/s State of Bihar (2014) 8 SCC 273.’
The programme was held on the directions of Justice Ali Mohammad Magray, the Chairman High Power Committee of U.T of J&K(Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority) and under the guidance and supervision of R N Wattal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, and Secretary DLSA, Rekha Kapoor Nischal.
Public Prosecutor in the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi, Ranjeev Kumar, acted as Resource Person, while Advocate Amit Gupta acted as a Guest Speaker.
Ranjeev Kumar elaborately discussed the directions laid down in the said Judgment and cleared the doubts in the minds of the Investigating Officers regarding the applicability of the directions of the Judgment.
Advocate Amit Gupta, also deliberated upon the purpose of discussing the said Judgment in the present Covid-19 Scenario, besides shedding light on Lalita Kumari’s Judgment.
Renu Gupta, Learned Sub-Judge, Jammu; Shalender Singh, SSP Reasi; Himanshu Mahajan, (Sr. Prosecuting Officer) DPO Reasi; Addl. Superintendent of Police, Reasi/Katra and all Dy.SPs of the District attended this On-line Programme.
