DM Kargil issues order detailing guidelines for arrangements of processions movement on Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (AS), Jumatul Vida

KARGIL MAY, 03, 2021: In order to regulate smooth and hassle free movement of processions in Kargil town on the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali (AS) on 21st Ramadan (4th  May, 2021) and Jumatul Vida falling on 7th May, 2021, Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and District Magistrate (DM) Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today issued an order detailing guidelines which state that it has been decided that the processions of Anjuman e Jamiatul Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil (AJUIAK) on 21st Ramadan will start from Islamia School Kargil at 1:30 PM, cross Lal Chowk by 2:30 PM and will culminate at Inqilab Manzil (Qatlgah) Kargil.

The order further states that the Jumatul Vida procession of AJUIAK shall start from ISK premises at 2:00PM, will be back from Lal Chowk by 2:30 PM, cross Khomeini Chowk by 2:40 PM and conclude at Islamia School Chowk, Kargil.

Similarly, the processions of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil will start from Jamia Masjid Kargil at 2:30 PM towards Hussaini Park on both days, i.e.; 21st Ramadan and Jumatul Vida and conclude at Hussaini Park.

The order also emphasizes to ensure that the number of participants shall not be more that 100 in the processions of both the organizations who shall strictly follow the COVID-19 SOPs and Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB).

According to the order, persons above 60 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years have been advised to stay at home and organizations managing the religious processions are required to implement this procedure at their level.

The order states that there should be proper screening of persons before attending the processions, like temperature through non-contact thermometer, SPO2 monitor and proper screening of influenza like symptoms.

Mandatory wearing of face masks, proper hand hygiene, washing of hands with soap and using hand sanitizers shall be ensured besides all devotees are required to maintain distance of 6 feet from each other, maintains the order.

According to the order, the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee and Executive Engineer, PHE, Kargil have been directed to make all necessary arrangements as per past practice where ever considered necessary.
