Dushyant Chautala directs officers to keep in touch with the youth preparing for competitive examinations who have registered on the Saksham Portal and encourage them
Chandigarh, January 14: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala directed the concerned officers to keep in touch with the youth preparing for competitive examinations who have registered on the Saksham Portal and encourage them to prepare diligently. He also directed them to evaluate and review as many online mock tests as possible.
Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Labour and Employment Department, was presiding over a review meeting regarding various initiatives taken by the concerned Department. On this occasion, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Anoop Dhanak, Additional Chief Secretary, Employment Department, Mr. TC Gupta, Director General, Skill Development & Industrial Training and Employment, Dr. Rakesh Gupta and other officers were also present.
The Deputy Chief Minister was apprised in the meeting that a total of 2,71,963 applications of youth have been approved under the scheme since the implementation of the Saksham Yuva Yojana, out of which some youths made the most of the scheme and were either employed or dropped out of the scheme due to age factor. Currently, 2,30,925 youth are approved. The State Government has given 1,20,765 youth out of the above registered youth 100 hours of work in some department or company as per their skills. Currently, 36,856 youth are employed under this scheme. It was also informed that as per the scheme, from November 2016 till date, the total allowance of Rs 626.56 crore was given to the youth, while Rs 485.65 crore was given as honorarium in lieu of 100 hours of work done.
Dushyanat Chautala was also apprised that the efforts made by the State Government have started receiving positive results. Out of the registered Saksham Yuva, 3825 youth have also got government jobs. On this occasion, it was also informed that the Saksham Yuva are being asked their job-related preferences through phone or SMS so that they can be guided accordingly. There is a target of career-counseling of over 30,000 youths next year. On the occasion, it was also informed that despite the lockdown, 36 online job fairs were conducted by the Employment Department so that the youth can get employment.
The Deputy Chief Minister was further apprised that about 50,000 youth are being prepared for competitive examinations of Government Jobs under the MoU signed with ‘Gradeup’ and ‘M3M Foundation’ by the Employment Department for government jobs, in the first phase. The preparedness of the youth is being evaluated through online tests.
Appreciating the efforts of the officers, Dushyant Chautala directed to make the youth registered on Saksham Portal more competent.
