Dushyant Chautala reviews projects to be carried out under NHAI in the State
Chandigarh, December 16 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala today reviewed various projects to be carried out under the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in the State. In this review meeting, apart from senior officers of the Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, officers of NHAI were also present. The Deputy Commissioners of several districts were also connected to this meeting through video conferencing.
The Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the portfolio of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, during his meeting with the Union Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi two days ago held detailed discussions on the construction works of several projects being carried out under NHAI in the state and also urged the Union Minister for carrying out some new projects.
Dushyant Chautala said that he will preside over quarterly review meetings in future while the Additional Chief Secretary of the department will hold a monthly meeting of the concerned officers regarding these projects.
The Deputy Chief Minister while discussing the problems being faced in the construction of various projects including acquired land of the villagers of village Dhani Phogat, Kapoori and Khatiwas in district Charkhi Dadari for the construction of Ambala-Kotputli National Highway and the issue of proposed bridge to be built in village Kaul in district Kaithal, and regarding the compensation for land acquired in district Jind, directed the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts to resolve these issues on priority basis.
In addition, he also directed the concerned officers to resolve issues related to disbursement of pending compensation for land acquired in Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Jind, Karnal and Kaithal, and obtaining No Objection Certificate for the canal-crossing structures from Irrigation Department for the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra national highway, and shifting of MIRKA MINOR that falls on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
He took stock of various construction works including Dwarka Expressway, 8-lane flyover and 4-lane underpass at Hero Honda Chowk in, Gurugram, flyover at Maharana Pratap Chowk, underpass and flyover at IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and Signature Chowk, elevated U-turn at Shankar Chowk and underground U-turn at Sirhaul border.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the delay in construction of national highways due to pending cases in the departments including Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd, Forest Department and Irrigation Department and directed the officers to resolve the issues.
After reviewing the said projects, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to send a proposal for the construction of an overbridge on the National Highway towards Rithoj-Damdama and make Hisar-Jind-Kaithal Road 4-lane under the Bharatmala project.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Power Department, TC Gupta, Principal Secretary, Forests and Wildlife Department, G. Anupama, including officers of NHAI were also present.
