Stressed upon to ensure benefits of welfare schemes to every person

With the motto to ensure delivery of Government Welfare Schemes to every person, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Ms. Isha Kalia today assumed the charge of her office today at District Administrative Complex Sector-76.
Specifically emphasizing on grievance redressal mechanism, Ms. Kalia said that every district needs a different type of approach and she will prioritize the things accordingly to redress the woes of the people. She added that accountability would be ensured of all the officers in respect of their work. Talking about the strategy to thwart the probable third wave of COVID-19, she said that she will thoroughly review the action plan of the district and take precautionary action to contain this highly contagious virus. She stressed upon the delivery of development projects on time and directed that laxity in this regard can’t be tolerated. She said that accountability would be ensured of all the district officials to expedite the infrastructure and any other development projects in the district.
Prior to this, she was given guard of honor by a contingent of Punjab Police and she inspected the parade at the District Administrative Complex. Senior officials of the district were present on this occasion. Earlier Ms. Kalia was posted as Director General School Education (DGSE). The 2009-batch IAS officer was also held additional charge as secretary, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). She also served as special secretary, department of health and family welfare and Deputy Commissioners of Hoshiarpur, Fazilka and Bathinda and special secretary, water supply & sanitation and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion and Member Secretary Punjab State Women Commission.
