Executive Councilor (Tourism and KDA) LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz today chaired a meeting to discuss sports and tourism-related activities in Drass Sub Division.
Councilor Bhimbhat, Adul Wahid, Councilor Ranbirpora, Abdul Samad, Executive Engineer, R&B, Executive Officer KDA, Divisional Forest Officer, Assistant Director Tourism, representative of horse polo members besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
The meeting held in depth discussions on various topics, including enhancement of the Bhimbhat War Memorial with a martyrs’ homage path, opening of a road from Drass to Gurez, and provision of inner line permits for Botokoul for tourists.
Additionally, the identification of trekking routes, opening of borders for patriotic tourism, recognition of heritage villages, subsidized procurement of high-breed horses for horse polo games, acquisition of horse polo equipment, week-long celebrations for the 25th Vijay Diwas, and infrastructural development of heritage horse polo grounds were extensively deliberated upon, among other issues.
The EC directed the officers from KDA, Tourism, and R&B to collaborate in preparing a Detailed Project Report for each project. He added that the collaborative effort should involve consultation with the Councilors of the respective constituencies. Subsequently, the finalized DPRs are to be submitted to the Council office for further necessary actions.
