EC Syed Arman kick starts Ladakh Winter Games Ice Hockey tournament under Khelo India
KARGIL, JANUARY, 06 2021: Executive Councilor (EC) for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Hassan Arman kick started Ladakh Winter Games Ice Hockey tournament under the banner of Khelo India 2021 at Biamathang Ice Hockey Rink here today where he was the chief guest.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Tai Suru, Muhammad Ishaq, ZPEO Shargole Haji Muhammad Sadiq, Nodal Officer FIT India, Lecturer Muhammad Baqir besides the representatives of Ladakh Olympic Association Kargil were also present on the occasion.
At the inaugural ceremony, a friendly match was played between Kargil-A and Kargil-B teams which was won by Kargil-B by 1-0 goal.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Syed Arman congratulated Youth Services and Sports Department Kargil for organizing the ice hockey tournament in the district every year. He said that such an event will help in bringing improvement in physical fitness and personality development of young players.
EC Syed Arman urged youths of Kargil district to actively participate in sports activities along with education so that they may excel in this field and bring laurels to the district and Ladakh UT at the national and international level. He assured every possible support from LAHDC, Kargil to promote sports activities at the highest level throughout the district particularly winter-related sports like ice hockey, snow ski etc.
Meanwhile, DYSSO Kargil, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma said that the department organizes such events every year to promote winter sports and give opportunity to young players to show their hidden talent. He said that sports are an essential part of education which helps a person in maintaining his physical fitness all the time. He congratulated officials of Youths Services and Sports for ensuring the proper maintenance of the ice hockey rink
Rehnuma also informed that under Khelo India such events are being organized in different blocks of the district from today onwards under the supervision of respective ZPEOs where players will get an opportunity to play at district and UT level.
