Efforts for awareness on cyber security must

Shri Patel was addressing the concluding session of the 10 day Cyber Crime Investigation and Intelligence Summit 2021 held at the State Police Academy today. Former CBI Director, Shri Rishi Kumar Shukla was also present.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that cyber has now become the fifth domain of human activities on land, sea, air and space. It has expanded rapidly. He told that a large number of people are using mobiles during their visit to the villages. There has been a fundamental change in the communication and behavior of government and society through mobile. E-governance has improved the life of common man. The working of the government has become more transparent, accessible and efficient. The economy of the country is also fast becoming cashless. Due to rapid increase in cyber activities, the incidents of cyber abuse are also increasing. Bank fraud, identity and data theft crimes are also increasing. People from rural and deprived sections are also falling prey to them. He said that apart from strictly following the cyber security laws, it is also necessary to have sensitivity towards the victims. It is necessary to act with the spirit and feeling of how the victim can be helped.
Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri informed that due to continuous misuse of technology, financial frauds have increased. Efforts are being made to increase awareness regarding cybercrime at the police station level. He said that the summit has been helpful in discussing cyber laws and regulations as well as in coordinating with the officials of the border states. During the summit, technical demonstration sessions were conducted, in which training on tools and methods related to cybercrime was imparted.
Special Director General of Police Smt. Aruna Mohanrao informed that 2365 law enforcement officers from different states and foreign countries took part in the summit. The summit has become a bridge between them for capacity building and coordination.
