Elevated Railway Line to be constructed in Kurukshetra
Chandigarh, December 17: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala said that an Elevated Railway Line will now be constructed in district Kurukshetra of Haryana. The project for this has been prepared and the construction work will be started on December 25, 2020 by performing Bhoomi Pujan, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the portfolio of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department said that this project has been approved by Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
He said that this project will cost a total of Rs 224.58 crore, out of which Haryana Government will spend 124.58 crore and the Union Ministry of Railways will spend Rs 100 crore. He said that this project has been prepared by ‘Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited’ and has finalized the agency for its construction so that the work can be completed soon.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the construction of this Elevated Railway Line will eliminate five manned Level Crossings on the Kurukshetra-Narwana railway line for decongesting the city. This will benefit lakhs of people of the district and surrounding areas, he added.
