Emotional event held at the tomb of Peshwa Bajirao

CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Civil and Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia paid homage to the brave son of Mother India, Peshwa Bajirao (First) on his birth anniversary today at Raverkhedi, his memorial site. CM Shri Chouhan said that today he has become blessed by coming to this holy place. Mother India has given birth to many heroes. Bajirao Peshwa is one among them.

Remembering former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Late Shri Vajpayee had said that this country is not just a piece of land for us, it is a living form of mother. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we worship the monolithic form of Mother India. Referring to the Partition Horrors Remembrance day, cited by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he said that we had got fragmented freedom. Lahore of Luv Kush, Adhura Punjab, Hinglaj Maiyya and Dhakeshwari Devi’s temple are all beyond our borders today. Many heroes including Veer Bajirao Peshwa had sacrificed their lives for the protection, unity and integrity of Mother India.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan repeated many instances of Bajirao Peshwa’s valour. He said that lessons of bravery and valour, war skills and strategy of Veer Bajirao are also taught in foreign military institutions. He said that Bajirao had returned the kingdom of Maharaja Chhatrasal after winning the war. When he reached Delhi, Aurangzeb’s grandson was stupefied. The valour of Bajirao Peshwa, the strategic prowess of the Nizam’s siege is recorded in golden letters in history.
