Strict action to be initiated against those found charging more than capped rates
Chandigarh, May 18 – In a bid to effectively tackle the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is making dedicated efforts so as to ensure that every precious life in the State can be saved. From increasing the number of beds in COVID hospitals, setting up new oxygen plants and providing financial relief to BPL families the State Government is leaving no stone unturned to provide adequate health facilities to the patients.
Sharing more information, in this regard, an official spokesperson said that while taking stringent measures to curb overcharging done by Private hospitals and ambulance operators during this hour of crisis has not only capped the hospitals and ambulance rates but has also appealed to the general public that if a private hospital or ambulance operator charges more than the capped rates, then they should immediately lodge a complaint so that legal action can be taken against such violators.
He informed that the rates of beds and other facilities have been fixed for COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in private hospitals of the State. The Government has fixed rate of Rs. 10,000 for isolation beds in NABH and JCI accredited hospitals, Rs. 15,000 for ICU beds without ventilators and Rs. 18,000 per day for ICU beds with ventilators. Similarly, in non-NABH accredited hospitals, the rates have been fixed at Rs. 8,000 for isolation beds, Rs. 13,000 for ICU beds without ventilators and Rs. 15,000 per day for ICU beds with ventilators, he informed.
Similarly, under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana, revised rates have also been fixed for empanelled hospitals, under which an amount of Rs. 2160 per day has been fixed for general wards in non-NABH accredited hospitals and Rs 2400 in NABH accredited hospitals, the spokesperson said.
Similarly, Rs 3240 has been fixed for HDU category wards in non-NABH accredited hospitals and Rs 3600 per day for NABH accredited hospitals.
Besides this, Rs 4320 per day has been fixed for ICU beds without ventilators in non-NABH accredited hospitals and Rs 4800 per day in NABH accredited hospitals, while Rs 5400 has been fixed for ICU beds with ventilator in non-NABH accredited hospitals and 6000 per day has been fixed in NABH accredited hospitals.
The spokesperson said that similar strict action has been taken against private ambulance drivers who are overcharging money from the patients, he said that rates have also been fixed for them. As per the fixed rates, Rs 30 per kilometer has been fixed for advance life sport ambulance, Rs 15 per km for basic life sport ambulance. Besides this, a fare of just 500 rupees has been fixed for the local area distance of 10 km.
