Chandigarh, August 25 – In Haryana, the impact of strictness imposed by Transport Minister Mr. Mool Chand Sharma in the fraud cases during online submission of Motor Vehicle Tax (Road Tax) has been observed in the State. After a recent case of producing fake receipt of road tax in Bawal has been found, a similar case has been witnessed in Hodal district Palwal.
In the evening, as soon as the matter of deducting fake tax receipts of road tax came to light, the Transport Minister directed to immediately to file an FIR against the accused. Along with this, he also asked the RTA officials of the respective districts to constantly monitor such fraudsters.
He said that during conducting a checking by Assistant Secretary of RTA office Palwal at Babri near Hodal yesterday, a Rajasthan number bus came from Mathura. When the bus driver was stopped and asked to get his motor vehicle tax checked, the driver showed a receipt of the Transport Department of Haryana, which turned out to be fake. While inquiring by the RTA officer, the driver said that he had got the receipt at a booth near Gulshan Dhaba. The Minister said that a similar case had been witnessed in Bawal of district Rewari recently.
Transport Minister Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that some people have opened private shops on the pretext of depositing motor vehicle tax online at Haryana border adjoining states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. These people take money from the vehicle owners and draft a fake receipt and do not deposit that money in the Government treasury. These kind of vehicle owners are identified only after investigation. Otherwise it is not possible to identify such fraud cases.
He informed that wherever such private shops are running in the state, it will be investigated and strict action will be initiated against them whenever a case of tax evasion or fraud is identified.
