YMCA Faridabad has signed an MoU with University of North Texas (UNT)

Chandigarh, September 24: Considering the rising demand of students for cutting-edge research to cater to present job market, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has signed an MoU with University of North Texas (UNT), USA to establish a mutually beneficial relationship towards Strategic Partnerships; Capacity building; Research Collaboration; Mobility of Faculty and the students; Dual/Double Degree Awards; and Progression arrangements. The University will soon explore the possibilities to start a dual degree program with UNT, and allow the students of the University to study at its campus in North Texas in the USA. The MoU has been signed by Jennifer Evans-Cowley, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of UNT. She expressed her willingness on starting exchange programmes of mutual interest. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar signed the MoU on behalf of the University.

Expressing pleasure over the academic collaboration, Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that the University of North Texas is one of the largest public research universities of the USA located in Denton, Texas. This partnership will provide opportunities to our faculty and students to get better exposure and international learning experience. Initially, the focus areas of the University will be research collaboration in Cloud computing, IOT, Big Data analytics, BlockChain Technology, Robotics and Automation, Cyber security, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Transport system, and Logistics Management System, he added.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the Director, International Affairs Cell, Dr. Shilpa Sethi and her team for their consistent efforts for making this initiative successful.

The partnership is the result of deliberations which were held between the officials of both Universities during the International Symposium on Fusion of Science and Technology (ISFT) organized by J.C. Bose University at Faridabad in January this year. The Vice Chancellor also applauded the efforts made by Registrar, Dr. S.K. Garg and Prof. Naveen Kumar of Delhi Technical University for their contribution in forming the association between two Universities.

It may be noted that a delegation from University of North Texas consisted of Dr. Victor Prybutok, Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Toulouse Graduate School and Dr. Gayle Prybutok, Faculty and Coordinator of MS in Health Services Administration at UNT, had also visited the University in the month of January, 2020 and discussed prospective academic collaborations between two Universities.
