Chandigarh, July 30:  Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the government is focussed on spreading the teachings and thoughts of Saints and Great personalities.

The Chief Minister said this while  speaking at a programme  organized by the Akhil Bhartiya Aggarwal Samaj to thank Chief Minister held here today.

Agrawal Community  of Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Chandigarh organised this programme after Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal announced to name Hisar Airport as Maharaja Agrasen International Airport.

During this programme, representatives of various organizations expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister by presenting silver mace, shawls, turbans, souvenirs, bouquets etc.

The Chief Minister said that the people of Agrawal Community are selflessly engaged in social service and have been doing social work  continuously by taking forward the thoughts and culture as preached and taught by great personalities. Society will always progress taking inspiration from such people, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that the State  Government has decided to celebrate birth anniversary of great personalities at state level so as to take forward their thoughts and ideals so as to inspire the society.

State level functions are being organized on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki, Guru Ravidas, Sant Kabir Das, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar jayanti. Besides this, the birth anniversaries of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji are also being celebrated in the State with great enthusiasm, added the Chief Minister.

He said that the names of big institutions of the state are also being named after great men.  The Horticulture University of Karnal is named after Maharana Pratap, Skill University of Palwal is named after Lord Vishwakarma.  Similarly, it was decided to name Hisar airport after Maharaja Agrasen, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

He said that as long as the government has the right to take such decisions of naming institutions and places after great men,  their legacy will be carried forward.

He said that while working on the ‘One Brick One Rupee’ principle of socialism as taught by  Maharaja Agrasen, the State Government would continue to work towards economic uplifment of the poor in the society.

The Chief Minister said that people from all over the world would come to Hisar airport, while only some know about Maharaja Agrasen,  naming this Airport after him will ensure that those who do not know about his rich legacy would also get a chance to know about his teachings.  In this way the name of Maharaja Agrasen will be famous all over the world, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

Efforts will be made to get State Government laboratories, NABL accreditation – Health Minister Anil Vij

To avoid Covid infection, sampling should be increased – Anil Vij

Officers should lay emphasis on administeration of second dose of COVID vaccine – Additional Chief Secretary, Rajeev Arora

Chandigarh, July 30 – Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that efforts would be made to get all government laboratories in the state the accreditation of  National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).  For this, instructions have been given to the concerned officers.

This information came to light during the review meeting regarding setting up of Tertiary Cancer Care Centre at Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment with senior officers of the Health Department being presided over by Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij here today.

The minister directed the senior officers of the Health Department to send a team of officials to various laboratories of the State for inspection and evaluation so as to get the laboratories verified from NABL and to rectify the deficiencies as per the NABL norms.  He asked them to submit a report in the headquarters so that the deficiencies can be rectified and laboratories can be verified by NABL.

During the meeting, Sh. Vij said that sampling with regard to COVID-19 should be increased so as to contain the spread of this highly contagious virus.  He said that people should be categorized according to their work and priority should be given to sampling. He said that random sampling should conducted in overcrowded areas so as to prevent the spread of infection.

Besides this, he directed the officers to expedite the work of setting up oxygen plants at the earliest considering the speculated COVID third wave. Similarly, Sh. Vij directed the officers that an oxygen plant of 200 liters per minute capacity should be setup in CHC or PHC at Ambala at the earliest.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora said that all the CSR funded works should be completed at the earliest to ensure appropriate use of these funds and that people are not deprived of health facilities being provided through CSR.  Similarly, he asked the officials to ensure immunization of staff and students of medical colleges  along with emphasis on the administration of second dose of the Covid vaccine.

In the meeting, regarding the establishment of Tertiary Cancer Care Centre in Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, the Health Minister was apprised that the infrastructure related work and civil work of the centre, establishment of MGPS plant, establishment of mammography, installation of CT simulator has been completed and work is in progress with respect to other facilities like Modular Operation Theatre, Linear Accelerator, Brachy Therapy, Medical Equipments, PET Scan, ensuring sufficient manpower etc.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Director General of Health Department, Dr. J.S. Grewal, Director General of Health Services, Dr. Veena Singh and Deputy Director Dr. Rekha Singh and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
