Vaccination campaign against the corona virus is in full swing in Barnala

. Under the campaign various camps are being organized for the ease of people and Senior citizens are showing enthusiasm in getting vaccinated against the corona virus.

Nonagenarian couple including 96 Yr Surjit Kaur from Gugga Madhi (Tapa district Barnala) along with 92 yr spouse Krishan Singh got the jab at camp organised at Municipal Council Office, Tapa.

”Vaccination is mandatory to prevent this disease and people should follow the instructions of the government and the health department,” said Surjit Kaur after getting the jab. Krishan Singh said that they both are fine and people should come forward for vaccination against corona virus.
People have started getting themselves vaccinated in large numbers said SDM Barnala Mr. Varjeet Walia, while honoring the couple and team of health department. Since Surjit Kaur could not walk properly due to locomotion issues, she was given jab and honored in the auto rickshaw itself in which she had come to camp with her husband.

So far till April 18, 31,293 doses of corona vaccine have been administered out of which 2724 to health workers, 6821 to health workers, 21,748 given to above 45 people, said Deputy Commisioner Mr. Tej Partap Singh Phoolka.
Deputy Commissioner said that senior citizens have responded very well. He appealed the all people above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated.
