Work is going on in 18 schools to save rain water, work to soon l start in 12 more schools
everyone should opt for water conservation: Tej Pratap Singh Phoolka

District Administration Barnala is leaving no stone unturned for the conservation of rainwater, a roof top harvesting system is being implemented in almost 30 schools of the district, which is a major tool to recharge underground water cascading down the roof and other sources.
Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka divulging more details about this said that the roof-top harvesting model is being implemented in 30 school buildings during the year 2021-22, out of which work in 18 schools are already in progress and 12 too will start.
He told that the villages in which work is going on, includ Bhattlan, Aspal Kalan, Rajgarh, Nangal, Farwahi, Thuliwal, Diwana, Moom, Gehl, Kalala, Ramgarh, Tallewal, Sehna, Ugoke, Vidhate, Daraj, Mehta and Nainewal. In addition to this, Bheni Maharaj, Patti Bajwa, Kubbe, Badbar, Qutba, Sahor, Kurar, Wazidke Khurd, Dhaner, Mahal Kalan, Cheema and Daraka villages are also included under this project.
Deputy Commissioner appealed that underground water is getting deeper, so every district resident should contribute to water conservation.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr Naval Ram said that the rain water conservation model is very successful. He said that the school’s roof and ground water is collected at a low place or in a pit. Further its taken to a chamber which has four layers and is released underground through a pipe. He said that these models have been implemented in several schools in the past years, to recharge underground water by maintaining clean rainwater.
