3rd Ladakh Volleyball championship concludes at Kargil

Kargil, October 13, 2022: The 3rd Ladakh Volleyball Championship organized by Kargil Volleyball Association in collaboration with Ladakh Volleyball Association concluded today at Khree Sultan Choo Stadium Biamathang, Kargil.
Executive Councillor Tourism RD and Zanaskar Affairs, Er Punchok Tashi was the chief guest, and District Youth Service and Sports Kargil Abid Ali was the guest of honour in the final match.
Sports Director GDC Kargil, Sports Director GDC Zanskar, members of the District Volleyball Association Kargil besides district officers and heads of sports associations were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, EC Tashi appreciated the performance of the teams in the final match and also hailed the hidden sporting talent of youth in the district.
Tashi informed that LAHDC Kargil is developing sports infrastructure across the district in order to further push the sports sector. While talking about the importance of sports, the EC said that sports activities play important role in physical and mental well-being.
Pertinently, 13 teams across Ladakh participated in the championship which includes 4 teams of boys and 3 teams of girls from Kargil, 3 teams of boys and 3 teams of girls from Leh. This championship was aimed prepare the participants for national-level participation.
The final match of boys was played between Under 21 Kargil and United Kargil in which Under 21 Kargil remained the winner. The second final was played between Girls Leh A and Leh B in which Leh A lifted the trophy.
Later, the EC and other dignitaries distributed prizes, appreciation certificates and medals among the players and participants.
