500 LPM oxygen plant set up in Kamala Nehru Hospital
October 6
Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang dedicated Aerox Metox 500 Liters Per Minute (LPM) P.S.A. Oxygen Plant at the Kamla Nehru Hospital Gas Relief Bhopal in Gandhi Medical Collage premises. On this occasion, he said that the last two years were of Corona brainstorming. At that time I came to understand that life is unpredictable. People became positive due to these negative thoughts and they took time out of their daily routine to serve others. The enlightened section of the society came forward and selflessly served the needy.
Minister Shri Sarang said that everyone worked in team spirit to deal with this dreaded situation. Every person of the society walked step by step with the government. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan ensured uninterrupted supply of oxygen and constantly monitored arrangements during this period.
This oxygen plant produces medical oxygen with a capacity of 500 liters per minute by taking oxygen from the atmosphere. 100 oxygen beds or 25 ICUs can be affiliated to this oxygen plant. The oxygen that this oxygen plant produces and supplies by taking air from the atmosphere is almost 100 percent pure.
In order to ensure continuous running condition of the plant, it is connected to regular power supply system. An autochange over system along with DG set has been established to ensure that the regular power supply is not interrupted and the plant continues to operate.
Sheds and platforms have been established at the official level, so that the plant remains functional at all times and remains safe from the adverse effects of the environment. Presently, due to the supply of oxygen from this plant, Kamala Nehru Hospital has become self-sufficient in oxygen. The establishment of this plant has enhanced medical facilities for the gas victims.
It may be noted that Covid-19 pandemic resulted in high demand of oxygen in all the hospitals in view of increasing number of patients. Oxygen Minipold was established at Kamala Nehru Hospital in the year 2016. Along with this, a pipeline of oxygen vacuum nights was also installed in the hospital at a cost of Rs 50 lakh at that time. In view of the increase in the number of patients from March 2021 to June, there was difficulty in completing the supply of oxygen through cylinders. Due to less availability of oxygen in the market, the establishment of the plant was necessary.
