5th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2022 enters the third week; celebration on with enthusiasm
CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 16:
The third week of the 5th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2022 is being celebrated enthusiastically and more than 48000 massive activities have been conducted from the starting of the POSHAN Maah and to date by the Nodal Department i.e. Women & Child Development in convergence with all the line departments.
With high zeal today also various activities have been conducted at the 450 Anganwadi Centres. The most eye-catching event for today was the community-Based event organized at the Anganwadi center sector 41. During the event, various activities i.e. Demonstration of Punjabi Corner (POSHAN Ka Charkha), HB, Sugar, Weight, and Height Check-up camp, Distribution of medicines (Iron Folic Acid, Calcium, etc.), Godbhari of 7 Pregnant Women and Demonstration of Millets recipe i.e. “Bajre ki Khichdi”, “Ragi and Besan ka chilla” and “Ragi ka halwa” was given to the beneficiaries by Chef Ishan, Maharishi Markandeshwar University. Beneficiaries enthusiastically participated in this activity and expressed their views to increase the millets in their daily routine diet. In addition to this, a Godbharai event was organized to encourage pregnant women for regular antenatal checks to eat a healthy and nutritious diet during pregnancy. Dr. Poonam Khanna and Dr Rachna from PGMIER, UT Chandigarh have taken an awareness lecture on the Introduction of millets in daily routine that may help to improve the immune system and about Eat Right Campaign. Further, the Anemia and Sugar Testing Camp was also conducted for all the beneficiaries. Ms. Palika Arora, PCS, Director of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development grassed the occasion as Chief Guest. The event was also remarked with the presence of Ms. Parminder Kaur, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, Sarita Godwani, State Consultant (CB & BCC), POSHAN Abhiyaan.
Another notable event was organized at Anganwadi Centre Manimajra. During the event budding chefs (Adolosent girls) competition was organized on millets-based recipes, and poster making competition among the children of the Anganwadi Centre was conducted along with children of Anganwadi Centres.
GRIID School organized healthy tiffin activity under the banner of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan.
NSS unit of I.S.Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School sector 21-C, Chandigarh organized ‘Quiz competition on Poshan Maah. The aim of this activity was to create awareness by bringing forth information that will help students progressively march towards a vision of a healthy India along with awareness about Food and Nutrition, healthy eating practices, a balanced diet, the importance of washing hands, etc.
