‘60 percent age appropriate persons vaccinated’
KISHTWAR, MAY, 25, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today said that district administration has established 92 Panchayat level Isolation centres while the process is on in the remaining Panchayats of the district.
He was speaking at a press conference held here at the conference Hall of DC office Complex to brief the media persons about the current Covid scenario in the district.
He informed that the district reported 1095 cases during the 2nd wave of the COVID pandemic , of which 755 Covid positive patients have recovered, while 335 are still active and 07 patients have lost the battle.
To effectively deal with upsurge of cases, a number of COVID mitigation measures have been taken by the district administration including notification of 13 micro containment zones comprising 26 hamlets in the rural areas of the district.
Regarding Medicare facilities, he informed that the district hospital is well equipped to provide treatment as per Covid protocol.
Giving further details, he informed that District Hospital has a stock of 385 oxygen cylinders, and to strengthen the supply further a new Oxygen Generation Plant will be commissioned soon in the Hospital.
Besides, he informed that on the instruction of LG, 92 Panchayat level 5- bedded COVID care centres have been established and started function in far flung areas of District Kishtwar, while the process to set up similar facility in remaining Panchayats is on and will be completed within few days.
Regarding vaccination, he said 68 % of age appropriate groups have been inoculated and the drive has been further scaled up, including in rural areas to cover all others .
“Panchayat level vaccination is being conducted in mission mode to vaccinate the target group under the supervision of a senior officer, besides the supply and transportation is being continuously monitored by the health department; he added.
He urged the masses to co-operate with the district administration by encouraging the persons above 45 years of age for vaccination.
