Chandigarh, May 13:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 97696 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 34th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 97696 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 96475 MT of wheat 1221 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 23730.30 metric tonnes, MARKFED 23984.23 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 16320.80 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 15326.95 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 13239.1 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 3873.6 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 13216187.78 MT.
