Says, as per the orders of CM Mann, farmers will be compensated for crop losses by Baisakhi
Farmers to get 15,000 per acre compensation, way more than what previous governments used to give: Balkar Singh

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs are continuously visiting villages of their constituencies to meet the farmers and listen their grievances. CM Mann has asked all MLAs to meet farmers to expedite the special girdawari process so that the farmers, who have lost their crops due to incessant rain and hailstorm, can be compensated for their losses before the festival of Baisakhi.
On Sunday, Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa visited the villages of Hoshiarpur to inspect the crop losses there. He said that the Mann government will leave no stone unturned to help the farmers of the state, “we even cleared the pending compensations from 2020 worth 150 crores after forming the government in march last year”, said the minister.
He said that all AAP MLAs are visiting the villages of their constituencies with the officers so that the girdawari reports can be prepared as soon as possible because CM has given clear instructions to compensate farmers for their losses before Baisakhi.
In this wake, Khemkaran MLA Sarwan Singh Dhun visited Sursingh with the officers, to meet farmers and assured them that they’ll get their compensation soon. Similarly, Hardeep Singh Mundia visited the villages of his constituency Sahnewal and asked officers to speed up the process of girdawari there. He also decided to donate his MLA salary this month to Chief Minister relief fund to help farmers in this hour of need.
MLA Dinesh Chadha visited the villages of Rupnagar constituency and promised the farmers there that the Mann government is pro-farmers government and is fully aware of the crisis that farmers are facing today and they’ll be compensated for every penny they lost due to rain and hailstorm.
MLA Balkar Singh met the farmers of village Naugaja of Kartarpur to inspect the loss of crop there. He said that CM Mann has put government machinery to do girdawari as fast as possible and farmers to Rs. 15,000 compensation per acre which is way more than what previous governments used to give farmers for their losses due to rain and hailstorm. He also thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for this pro-farmers step.
